German authorities say they’re close to identifying who they think was behind what appears to have been a coordinated but botched attempt to use exploding drones against cargo aircraft at Leipzig/Halle Airport. On Tuesday, police found a third drone with traces of military-grade explosives on it in a field next to the airport. It was the third such discovery after a drone loaded with RDX bounced off a Ukrainian Antonov cargo plane on Aug. 4 but failed to detonate. The drone reportedly went into a stationary hover and was knocked out of the air by a tour guide. Authorities later found a bomb attached to it.
A DHL plane also collided with a drone while aborting a landing at Leipzig/Halle because the first drone closed the airport. Russia has been named as the prime suspect in the bizarre plot in media reports but no official accusations have been made. It’s being characterized as “hybrid warfare” in which state-sponsored attacks on foreign soil don’t quite reach the level of acts of war but still cause mayhem. Meanwhile, the drone plot seems to be having its desired effect of destabilizing things as European countries are deploying drone countermeasures at their airports. Germany says its airports are safe but it’s going to ramp up security to ease public concerns about safety at its airports. Leipzig/Halle is one of Europe’s biggest cargo hubs with most major parcel delivery companies located there. In 2024, a bomb went off inside the DHL warehouse there.

False Flag? I think that Russia has already made its intention clear. Europe and N America, in that order. Our politicians have opened the door and are signaling that we will not resist. I remember when Soviet totalitarianism was thought to be a bad thing. How times change.
