Stratus 4 ADS-B Receiver Product Brief

Appareo’s Stratus line of portable ADS-B receivers has sold well over the years, and there always seem to be willing buyers for the latest portable traffic and weather units. For existing owners of aging Stratus units and for new buyers, Appareo launched the latest-gen Stratus 4 portable. It’s priced at $849 and has a color display and smart Wi-Fi connectivity. We’ve been flying with the Stratus 4 to get an overview in this Smart Aviator Product Brief.

Stratus earned its reputation by being stable. It connects, stays connected, and doesn’t need babysitting in flight. Built around ForeFlight from day one. Good product.

Kind of hard to improve upon these products which do a couple things really well. Not sure a screen is necessary or all that useful but I guess everything else in our life has a screen now so why not. Also – what is Smart Aviator magazine and how do I subscribe?
