One of the most ambitious flight track drawings we’ve encountered played out as a patriotic tribute covering most of the Midwest on Friday. Eric Genier from Ohio Flight Center traced an outline of the continental U.S. with the inscription “USA 250th.” It took him more than six hours to fly the convoluted route in retractable 182 and the flight planning undoubtedly took plenty of time, too. He took off at 6 a.m. from Norwalk/Huron County Airport in Ohio and landed back at the same airport just after noon. The plane has been busy since the tracing flight, too. It went to Kenosha, Chicago Midway and all the way to Leesburg, Virginia, in the 12 hours after the famous flight.
