New England Air Museum Restorations: Eastern Douglas DC-3

Aviation museums like the New England Air Museum in Connecticut play a vital role in preserving and restoring all aspects of aviation history, and we all owe a big thanks to the talented and generous volunteers that put lots of hours and hard work into restoring a wide variety of old birds. With cameras rolling, we got an exclusive tour of the museum’s Eastern Airlines DC-3 exhibit and a behind-the-scenes tour of the museum’s work floor and storage hangars.

A wonderful tour or a remarkable museum! Thank you for sharing it with those of us who will never have a chance to see it in person.

Thanks for this, Larry. I enjoyed it! Do you know if the DC-3 restoration was complete, or just cosmetic?

Mostly a cosmetic preservation, though the aircraft did fly into the museum before the work.
