The U.S. is deploying hundreds of aircraft to the Middle East in anticipation of conflict with Iran and that’s not counting the two aircraft carriers headed there. Various sources estimate two squadrons each of F-35 and F-16 fighters are either in transit or in the area along with at least a dozen F-22s. The aircraft started moving to the Middle East last week from the U.S. and in the last few days from European bases. Some were already in the area. It appears even some A-10s are in the mix The fighters are the pointy end of the stick should peace negotiations fail. Both sides reported progress in talks this week. It takes a lot of backup support to field those fighters, however.
At least two E3 Sentry AWACS aircraft launched from Mildenhall Air Base in the U.K. and a U-2 spylane took off from RAF Fairford. In addition to providing high-altitude surveillance, the Dragon Lady serves as a communications bridge between F-22s and F-35s. Two RC-135 Rivet Joint signals intelligence planes have been sent and several P-8 Poseidon marine surveillance aircraft are also there. Numerous KC-135 and KC-46 tankers along with dozens of transport aircraft have also crossed the Atlantic on their way to forward operating bases near Iran. Should an attack be launched, it’s expected to be coordinated with aircraft from the Israeli Defense Force.

Actually, Russia is. With Iran as its proxy and puppet, Moscow has hosted Hamas delegations since 2006, refusing to designate them as a terrorist organization, and has utilized these ties to challenge US influence in the Middle East with huge sums of money, equipment and intel.

The 2015 treaty allowed continuous monitoring of the Natanz and Fordow sites. Of course, that ended when President Trump tore up the treaty.

The US does not have the combined military forces for an invasion followed with sustainable logistics including manpower for a war of attrition. At this point, we have the maximum combined aerial firepower including existing reserve Tomahawks, aerial ordinance, Patriot/Thaad/Attacm’s for max 45 days, assuming the US military “brain trust” has not underestimated Iran’s offensive and defensive firepower. The conservative estimates via war games planners for US military death’s is 10,000 US combatants.
