Homebuilt HELP, publisher of how-to videos for builders of popular kit aircraft, has announced that it is uploading the greater part of its video library to its YouTube channel for free viewing. The company has been making the step-by-step construction videos on DVDs for 20 years, and its titles include the popular aircraft kit models from Zenith, Sonex, and Van’s Aircraft.

The company says that while many of the kit aircraft are still selling today, the videos have matured to the point that they do not always include the latest changes found in the plans of the current kit models. Jon Croke, the company chief, says that if builders follow their plans, these videos are still more than 90% accurate and valuable for speeding up construction time and relieving stress for a new builder. He adds: “One of the best ways to evaluate an expensive aircraft kit before purchase is to watch these videos. You can learn in advance just what type of skills are needed.” Croke suggests bumping the playback speed in the settings to 2x if you just want to get the gist of a long assembly without watching every single fastener get pulled in real time.
Videos once sold as DVDs can be found by visiting the Homebuilt HELP YouTube channel, http://YouTube.com/HomebuiltHELP, and navigating to the appropriate playlist category (Zenith, Sonex, RV) for available videos. There is also a playlist category for scratchbuilding the Affordaplane ultralight in 50 video steps.

Jon makes excellent videos. I have learned a lot from them!
Jon, I appreciate your willingness to make these public now. They are still very helpful and surely contribute to more people building kit airplanes. What an immense amount of work. Thank you!
