Jeppesen ForeFlight and uAvionix have partnered to create a panel-mounted display for ForeFlight that fits in a standard three-inch instrument hole. The Sentry SkyPlay Mini is designed to be used in partnership with the normal ForeFlight iPad display to give pilots options for different phases of flight. “Rather than replacing your mobile devices, Sentry SkyPlay Mini complements it,” says a joint press release issued in advance of AirVenture 2026. “Pilots can choose the interaction method that best fits the moment—using the flexibility of their mobile device during planning and enroute operations while benefiting from dedicated panel controls when conditions make touch interaction less practical.”
Instead of a touchscreen, the three-inch display uses a rotary knob and tactile controls for changing the screen settings. The image on the installed device is the same as that displayed on the iPad so pilots can switch back and forth between devices depending on what they’re doing at the time. “Because the ForeFlight experience is extended to the avionics display, pilots gain an additional way to access the information and workflows they need directly from the panel.”
The companies also said the 3-inch display is just the first of what they predict will be a suite of new products supplying ForeFlight data to the panel. “The long-term vision shared by uAvionix and Jeppesen ForeFlight is a suite of aviation applications running on certified panel displays, anchored in the ForeFlight user experience, with certified flight functions protected at all times,” the companies said. Working examples of the SkyPlay Mini will be operating at both the uAvionix booth (3045-3047) and Jeppesen ForeFlight booth (443-445) throughout AirVenture 2026. The devices will ship later this year.
Now if FF would just let me control txt size instead of having to zoom and read before it resizes small I wouldn’t need my readers as much…with all the tech horsepower be nice if at least some of the SW dev’rs or use case writers were 45+ and had the same old person issue…only way I know of now to read small print is to zoom on sectional chart overlay.
Magnifying glass on hand would work …
