The Air Force’s first sixth-generation fighter, the X-47, is now in production and first flight is expected in 2028. Chief of Staff David Allvin made the announcement at the Air & Space Forces Association’s 2025 Air, Space, and Cyber Conference during his keynote address. He didn’t share any more details on the platform. The stealth aircraft is being built by Boeing and will be designed to fly at Mach 2 with a combat range of 1,000 miles. But speed and stealth are actually relatively minor aspects of the fighter. Jet Insight prepared a detailed video report on the plane a few days ago when the rumor mill started rumbling about the F-47 schedule.
The sensor suite on the plane is expected to allow pilots to see threats long before they get close and either avoid them or engage with surprise on their side. The plane will also be able to fly alongside stealthy supersonic drones that will defend the crewed aircraft and join the fight in coordinated actions. “After years of work, hundreds of test hours, 1,000s of man-years in the lab, the President announced the F-47,” The War Zone reported Allvin said. “It’s the platform that, along with all of the rest of the [NGAD] systems, is going to ensure dominance into the future.”

I could only stand to watch the first 45 seconds of this video. The video narration form of clickbait and the overbearing background music made me skeptical that the rest of the video would contain enough useful information to be worth the 13 minutes of my life that it would consume. I half believed the narration was being read by a machine, not a person invested in informing viewers. If anybody watches this video all the way through, please post a review of how worth the watching-time it is.
Russ, at this point my assessment is that this Youtube channel is not a worthy complement to AvBrief’s quality.
Uuugh! After 15 seconds I skipped ahead a few minutes. 30 more seconds and I done. This guy probably does UFO videos too.
