Beringer AERO, based in Tallard, France, has secured parts manufacturing approval (PMA) as of June 11 for its production and distribution facility in Greenville, South Carolina. Though Beringer has had a base in the U.S. since 2012, to serve as a supplier to Cirrus and other North American customers, the recent approval blesses the manufacturing of certified replacement and modification parts in the Greenville plant. In the current tariff climate, that opportunity and cost savings cannot be ignored. A strong network of suppliers local to South Carolina continues the Beringer tradition of streamlining operations, and improving lead times for better responsiveness to its customers, which include not only OEMs but also those in the experimental and amateur-build market.
AvBrief caught up with Beringer CEO Claire Beringer this spring and toured the facility in Greenville as it was undergoing the audit process prior to the approval. We go behind the scenes to see how Beringer’s distinctive red wheel-and-brake systems come to life.
