Backcountry Group Looking for Help With Ranch

If spending part of the summer surrounded by natural beauty, airplanes, and pilots sounds appealing, the Jim Richmond Backcountry Aviation Foundation may have an offer you can’t refuse. The organization is looking for someone or a couple to help look after the 45 Ranch, the foundation’s flagship property in Idaho’s Owyhee Canyonlands. The current caretakers Bob and Connie are staying, but they will need help with some projects over the summer and would like to be able to take some time off, the foundation said. It’s a paid contractor position and accommodations are provided. The full job posting is below.

Meanwhile, there’s less than a week to enter the draw for the Foundation’s backcountry-equipped Cessna 182. The winner will be picked on June 6 and the prize is a tricked-out 1958 straight tail 182 with a new engine. The tickets are $50 and a major bonus is that the foundation will pay the taxes that will accrue with the winning of the plane. That makes the whole package worth $200,000.

Looks like that would be a fun retirement gig, I wish it had been posted earlier, summer is already here!

“natural beauty, airplanes, and wildlife” sounds much more appealing. 😂
