AvBrief Feature Podcasters Finalists for Aerospace Media Award

Podcasters Max Trescott and Rob Mark, whose popular NTSB NewsTalk show appears every other Thursday in AvBrief, have been named finalists in the Best Multimedia category of the 2026 Aerospace Media Awards. The winners will be announced in London on July 19. The podcast was posted March 25 and examined the runway collision between an Air Canada Express regional jet and a fire truck at La Guardia and the intensely personal look at a crash in which a personal friend of Mark’s was killed. The two experienced pilots and commentators talk about the impact of a crash involving a friend. “What makes this episode stand out is its human side,” the team wrote in the preamble to their production. “Max and Rob talk candidly about what it feels like when a crash stops being abstract and becomes the loss of someone you knew, and how pilots can process that loss while turning it into safer decisions in their own flying.”
