Bozeman, Montana, pilot and EFB developer Matt Guthmiller is up for an international Emmy award as a key cast member in a wild Mexican television show that is one of Disney+’s most popular shows. The show, La Peor Vuelta Al Mundo (The Worst Trip Around the World), involves a circumnavigation in a TBM 850 with Mexican media star Juanpa Zurita and a host of “high energy” young Mexican celebrities he invites for legs to world beauty spots. The show launched last year and the first season became one of Disney+’s most popular shows. It has been nominated for an international Emmy in the Non-Scripted Entertainment category. It’s up against much more serious looking offerings from China, the U.K., and France.
“Earlier this year Disney announced it’s officially been renewed for Season 2, which is much bigger and better,” Guthmiller told AvBrief. “There’s even a musical number and it should be dubbed in English as well instead of just subtitled when it premieres next year. Season 1 peaked at #2 worldwide on Disney+ when it was released last year.” Guthmiller is the safety-first foil for the spontaneously exuberant young celebrities and that’s reflective of his current day job.
