At least 15 people were taken to a hospital in Tampa after the JetBlue A320 they were on “experienced a drop in altitude” on a flight that took off from Cancun, Mexico, and was originally headed to Newark. The crew diverted after the incident, and the crew reportedly said head lacerations were among the injuries. According to FlightAware, the plane landed in Tampa about 2:19 p.m. and the track log shows an altitude anomaly about an hour earlier. CNN says the FAA is investigating it as “flight control issue.”
The plane was met by medical personnel who assessed the injured and sent those most seriously hurt to the hospital. None of the injuries were considered to be life-threatening. Jet Blue said the plane is grounded. “Our team has taken the aircraft out of service for inspection, and we will conduct a full investigation to determine the cause,” JetBlue said in a statement.

Chinese hackery
Automation issue and failure to have a firm hand on the controls when disengaged.
I read else where that the plane flew away later that evening. If so, you’re right. “Ooops damn. Didn’t mean to do that!”
Seatbelts, people!
I think you are asking too much common sense from the entitled self-loading cattle. Following simple directions isn’t easy in todays day and age.
How do you wear a seatbelt when walking to/from the lavatory? Or even in the lavatory?
15 people weren’t going to or occupying the lavatory.
